I only have one goal the next 5 weeks. I want to be fully present in each moment.
First up is a week with Aaron’s family at a cabin in Gatlinburg, TN. Then a family wedding in Montgomery, Alabama next weekend. Looking forward to swimming, games, family, hikes, reading, our 4th wedding anniversary (!) and lots of downtime.
We drive back Sunday the 28th all day. Then leave Monday morning for a mission trip to Indianapolis with a ton of our teens! Can’t wait for van rides, work projects, games, laughter, worship, late nights, great food, lots of God moments, taking pictures & video, and any minute spent with teens. They’re hilarious.
We get back Friday, July 3rd and I leave at 6am the next morning for Alaska! First is 10 days with a group from United Seminary. We’ll hit Anchorage, a wildlife cruise in Seward, and spend a week in Nome. Looking forward to great people, nature, showing off my beautiful home state to my friends (!), new experiences and getting some great pictures.
Next is being maid of honor in my little sister’s wedding!!! Looking forward to family, parties, the wedding, camping, downtime after wedding and just being in Anchorage.
whew.
So as you can see, I have a lot to look forward to. Which could potentially keep me distracted from whatever I’m currently doing.
So to enjoy my summer, I want to intentionally be focused on the people I’m with in person, the place I’m at and what we’re doing.
That’s the best gift we give others. And ourselves.
