My husband and I are looking forward to spending next week in Seattle. I’ve decided not to take my computer. For those of you who know me, I’m pretty connected to this thing. 🙂
I believe technology & the internet are tools to make God’s kingdom bigger. So its easy to rationalize why spending insane amounts of time learning new apps, websites and such is a great use of time.
But at what point are we so attached to telling the stories of God that we forget to spend time with the God who inspires those stories?
So I’m excited to cut the cord between the computer and myself. I’m excited to experience another city & culture without mentally preparing a Twitter update about it. I’m excited to be fully present with my husband and plan to be aware of God’s presence every step of the way.
Knowing technology will never replace a physical life-altering encounter with the living God.
See you next week!

How is God giving you…
enough joy to encourage you?
enough love to strength you?
enough success to build your confidence?
enough suffering to force you to depend on him?
enough confusion to make you seek his face?
I’m trying to pick just one book to take next week. I think it might be this one. It’s a challenge.
