Ben Simpson wrote an open letter to young UM leaders. His basic proposal is to have 40 people commit to writing a prayer, to be published online, which will guide those praying alongside and within the young clergy community for 40 days. Possibly before annual conference time. If you want to write one of the prayers, check out the post above.
Gavin Richardson (of Methoblog fame) and I talked about using this concept for Geek Breakfasts for meet ups in districts & conferences among people who meet in the online communities. He’s putting together a proposal and we’ll see what happens!
Andrew Conard has put together a Young Clergy Social Media Guide. Use #umyc on Twitter when talking young clergy stuff. Great work!
Lots of email conversations with some very smart IT guys around the country. All contributing their ideas and resources for relaunching http://www.umcyoungclergy.com/.
I’m not sure where God is taking this young clergy thing. But the bottom line seems to be about anybody (clergy or lay) having a great idea, fleshing it out, collaboration, making it happen, and getting the word out.
I love that.
Okay…the guys are rocking the ideas. Come on ladies! 🙂
