Last Wednesday, we had a guest preacher in chapel at school. He made a great point that has stuck with me ever since. We have a tendency to rate our life on how ministry is going (or anything else, for that matter). If ministry is going well, we are happy. If things are struggling and rough, we are unhappy. He called it a teeter-totter minsitry.
In the past couple days, God has given me the eyes and strength to separate those two areas. I am happy with my life and the choices I make. Even when ministry is a struggle at times or things don’t go as I planned. It doesn’t affect how God sees me or how I should see myself.
It may seem obvious to you, but it was a revelation for me. 🙂
